The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi Invites the Community to Inscribe Names into Perpetuity
In a magnificent gesture of cultural participation, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi has launched an inspired campaign inviting students, families and residents across the Emirates to contribute their creativity towards shaping an enduring legacy. The initiative, entitled ‘Write Their Name into History’, offers the public an exceptional opportunity to propose imaginative and culturally resonant names for two of the institution’s most captivating specimens: an awe-inspiring blue whale skeleton stretching an impressive twenty five metres in length, and an iconic Tyrannosaurus rex.
This thoughtful endeavour celebrates the notion that naming these ancient titans represents far more than a mere administrative exercise. Rather, it embodies a genuine invitation for the community to participate in the stewardship of natural heritage, transforming individual creativity into a permanent testament that will greet countless visitors in the years to come.
The winning names, once selected, shall be formally adopted and displayed permanently alongside these extraordinary geological wonders. This ensures that the chosen designations will become an integral part of the museum’s narrative, carrying forward the cultural significance and imaginative spirit of those who contributed to this distinguished initiative.
The campaign represents a celebration of collective wisdom and cultural expression, offering the opportunity for visitors and residents to leave an indelible mark upon Abu Dhabi’s most treasured natural artefacts. Whether proposed by schoolchildren embarking upon their journey of discovery or by families sharing moments of wonder, each submission carries the potential to resonate through generations of future visitors, eternally connecting the community to these marvels of the natural world.
