TRENDS Research & Advisory Strengthens Global Partnerships at London Security Expo

The Abu Dhabi-based think tank concluded its inaugural participation in the International Security Expo London 2026 with a panel discussion on strategic power and academic collaboration agreements with leading British institutions.

TRENDS Research & Advisory, the prestigious research division of TRENDS Group, has concluded a successful inaugural participation in the International Security Expo London 2026, hosting a substantive panel discussion and establishing collaborative frameworks with several of the United Kingdom’s most distinguished academic institutions.

Held at Olympia Grand, the panel discussion, entitled “Strategic Power in an Interconnected World: Technology, Resources and Security,” brought together leading voices to examine the contemporary pillars underpinning global strategic influence. The conversation, moderated by Zayed Al Dhaheri, researcher at TRENDS Research & Advisory, featured contributions from fellow TRENDS researchers Rawda Al Marzouqi and Hazza Al Hammadi, alongside international academics and security experts. Panellists emphasised the paramount importance of technology, resources and security infrastructure in shaping digital sovereignty and securing critical mineral supply chains essential to global stability.

Beyond the formal panel discourse, the TRENDS delegation pursued meaningful partnerships with representatives from the University of Birmingham, the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, King’s College London, and the British Library. These discussions centred upon mechanisms for joint academic research, collaborative projects and student exchanges, reflecting TRENDS’ commitment to advancing knowledge through international scholarly cooperation.

The TRENDS pavilion exhibition presented an extensive collection of approximately 550 books and studies spanning diverse fields of inquiry, demonstrating the breadth and depth of the organisation’s research portfolio. This exhibition served as a tangible manifestation of the think tank’s intellectual contributions to contemporary scholarship.

Reflecting on the participation, Rawda Al Marzouqi, Head of the Distribution and Exhibitions Sector at TRENDS Group, underscored the pivotal role that rigorous scientific research plays in formulating robust security strategies. She noted that the expo participation had strengthened TRENDS’ international standing as a trusted research institution whilst meaningfully expanding its network of global partnerships, positioning the organisation to address multifaceted challenges of international significance.
