UAE and Argentina Chart Course for Expanded Economic and Tourism Collaboration

Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri has held strategic bilateral discussions in Buenos Aires to deepen partnerships across key sectors including renewable energy, technology and tourism.
During an official visit to Argentina, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, has advanced discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and Argentina across multiple economic and tourism domains. The meetings, held during the 30th International Tourism Fair in Buenos Aires, underscored the two nations’ commitment to fostering sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships.
In his meeting with Luis Caputo, Minister of Economy, discussions centred on expanding cooperation in sectors of strategic importance: the new economy, food and agriculture, renewable energy, technology, infrastructure, mining and logistics. The exchange highlighted the UAE’s recent legislative achievements, including the introduction of 100 percent foreign ownership provisions and modern frameworks governing family businesses and technological commerce. These reforms, Minister Bin Touq emphasised, have enhanced the nation’s competitive position and facilitated international business engagement.
Conversations with Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports, explored the development of collaborative tourism initiatives and cultural exchanges. Both nations identified opportunities to create joint events and shared tourism products that would encourage visitor flows between the two countries. Minister Bin Touq drew particular attention to Abu Dhabi’s forthcoming hosting of the 127th session of the UN Tourism Executive Council in November—a inaugural event for the UAE—as evidence of the nation’s expanding international role in sustainable tourism development and multilateral cooperation.
Tourism figures demonstrate the strengthening connection: Argentine visitor numbers to the UAE increased substantially by 55.7 percent in 2025, reaching 41,476 arrivals compared with the previous year. Similarly, Argentine commercial presence in the UAE has expanded significantly, with active Argentine companies rising by 21.1 percent to nearly 750 entities by March 2026.
During discussions with Pablo Quirno Magrane, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, both ministers examined mechanisms to facilitate trade flows and strengthen UAE commercial positioning within Argentina’s market. The strategic locations of both nations as regional and global commercial hubs formed a central theme in these conversations.
A roundtable gathering ministers, officials and private-sector representatives from both countries provided a forum for examining tourism sector developments and identifying expansion opportunities. Participants exchanged perspectives on destination enhancement, institutional communication channels and leveraging respective capabilities to strengthen business community connections across the tourism and hospitality industries.
