UAE Condemns Attack on European Diplomatic Delegation in West Bank

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong statement following an incident involving Israeli settlers and European diplomats, calling for accountability and renewed international commitment to peace efforts.
The United Arab Emirates has expressed profound concern following an attack by Israeli settlers upon a European diplomatic delegation visiting the village of Taybeh in the occupied West Bank, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry characterised the incident as a serious breach of international law and established diplomatic conventions, which exist to safeguard the safety and sanctity of diplomatic representatives and their missions. Such actions, the Ministry noted, represent a fundamental transgression of the principles that underpin the international order.
In its formal statement, the Ministry emphasised that this occurrence contributes significantly to the deterioration of regional circumstances and poses substantial impediment to the pursuit of lasting peace and stability. The incident underscores the fragility of efforts to advance reconciliation and underlines the urgency of renewed international engagement.
The Ministry has called for a comprehensive, independent and transparent investigation into the violations, with particular emphasis upon holding those responsible fully accountable for their actions. This commitment to accountability reflects the UAE’s steadfast belief in the rule of law and the principles of justice.
Furthermore, the Ministry appealed to the international community to discharge its obligations in addressing the continuing violations and to implement measures that will prevent further escalation within the Occupied Palestinian Territory and across the broader region. The statement underscores the necessity for decisive international action to prevent the deterioration of circumstances on the ground.
The UAE has reiterated its unwavering support for all regional and international endeavours directed towards advancing the peace process throughout the Middle East. The Ministry stressed the imperative of achieving a comprehensive and just resolution that respects the legitimate aspirations of all parties, whilst bringing an end to practices that contravene international law and undermine the viability of a two-state solution.
