UAE Justice System Showcases Integrated AI Solutions at UN Crime Congress

The Ministry of Justice and e& demonstrated how artificial intelligence can enhance legal accessibility and efficiency across the entire justice ecosystem at the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Abu Dhabi.

The United Arab Emirates has taken a significant step forward in modernising its justice sector by showcasing an integrated, artificially intelligent justice system at the international stage. The Ministry of Justice, in partnership with telecommunications and technology leader e&, presented a comprehensive demonstration of how advanced AI technologies can transform every aspect of legal services and judicial processes.

The presentation at the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice highlighted a distinctly modern approach to justice delivery. Rather than introducing isolated technological tools, the showcase illustrated how multiple AI systems operate seamlessly together across a connected ecosystem, creating what officials describe as an end-to-end agentic-AI-powered justice journey.

Judge Abdulrahman Murad Al Baloushi, Assistant Undersecretary for the International Cooperation and Legal Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Justice, emphasised that technology must serve fundamental principles of justice. He noted that the UAE’s focus centres on making legal services more accessible to citizens, streamlining judicial processes and enhancing decision-making capabilities, whilst maintaining the transparency, accountability and trust essential to any functioning justice system.

The integrated demonstration comprised five interconnected showcase zones: a Digital Legal Advisor providing AI-powered guidance to citizens; an E-Judge Assistant supporting judicial decision-making; an Intelligent Judicial Hub coordinating case management; an E-Notary system for document authentication; and a conceptual Future Court exploring emerging possibilities. A sovereign AI demonstration, presented as AI in a Box, showcased the infrastructure supporting these services.

Abdulla Ebrahim Al Ahmed, Chief Government and VVIP Relations Officer at e& UAE, highlighted the significance of systems working intelligently across entire ecosystems rather than operating independently. He explained that true transformation involves combining artificial intelligence with sovereign infrastructure and secure connectivity, enabling intelligent services that support both individuals and institutions whilst maintaining governance and control.

The initiative reflects broader international trends in justice sector modernisation. Agentic AI systems represent an evolution beyond individual applications, capable of understanding objectives and executing interconnected tasks within carefully defined parameters. Simultaneously, sovereign AI capabilities have become increasingly important for governments managing sensitive data and critical infrastructure, allowing nations to adopt advanced technologies whilst retaining complete control.

The Abu Dhabi congress brought together international delegates, government representatives and justice-sector leaders to discuss the future of criminal justice and emerging sector challenges. The UAE’s showcase contributed substantially to global conversations about responsible AI implementation in legal and judicial contexts.
