UAE operation supplies nine potable‑water tankers to Gaza, bringing total to 50

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has handed over nine water tankers to the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility in Gaza, part of continued UAE support to alleviate shortages and boost municipal capacity.

Nine tankers delivered to bolster water distribution for residents and displaced people

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has delivered nine tankers carrying potable water to the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility in the Gaza Strip, the UAE state news agency reported. The vehicles were supplied with contributions from Abu Dhabi’s Dar Al Ber Society and the Fujairah Charity Association as part of ongoing humanitarian assistance.

The handover took place at a press conference attended by representatives of local and international organisations, mukhtars and community leaders, mayors, and media outlets. Officials said the delivery aims to expand water distribution to underserved areas, support municipalities in meeting rising demand and ease the burden on local authorities charged with providing essential services.

Mahmoud Hassanein, Director of the Projects Department at the Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 Support Committee, reaffirmed the UAE’s continued commitment to supporting multiple sectors in Gaza and assisting residents amid a protracted water crisis. He described the provision of the nine tankers as part of sustained water‑relief programming designed to supply potable water and reinforce municipal capacity.

Omar Shatat, Deputy Director‑General of the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility, welcomed the contribution, noting that the UAE and Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 have long supported water and sanitation services across the Strip. He pointed to previous projects that have helped alleviate shortages, including a water transmission line serving 700,000 displaced people.

Since October 2023, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has continued to supply water tankers to the Gaza water sector; with this latest delivery the total number of tankers provided reaches 50. Officials said the UAE remains engaged in furnishing the equipment and supplies needed for water and sanitation services so that municipalities can reach residents and displaced populations and meet basic needs.

The contribution from Dar Al Ber Society, an established UAE charity, together with Fujairah Charity Association, underscores a cooperative approach between federal and emirate‑level organisations in the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
