UAE Showcases Cultural Treasures at Cairo's Turathna Heritage Exhibition

The United Arab Emirates presents an extraordinary collection of traditional crafts, folk performances and literary celebrations at the prestigious eighth edition of Cairo's Turathna exhibition, reinforcing the enduring bonds between two nations through shared cultural appreciation.

The United Arab Emirates has brought forth a resplendent display of national heritage at the 8th edition of the Turathna exhibition for handicrafts and heritage products, one of the region’s most distinguished celebrations of cultural craftsmanship. Inaugurated by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre in Cairo, the exhibition unfolds under the evocative theme ‘Our Heritage is the Origin of the Story.’

Represented through the steadfast collaboration of the Saud bin Saqr Establishment for Youth Project Development and Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the UAE pavilion stands as a testament to the Emirate’s unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting its cultural legacy. The Egyptian Prime Minister graced the pavilion with his presence, engaging thoughtfully with the displayed artefacts and conversing with delegation members who provided comprehensive insights into the carefully curated exhibits.

Mohammed Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and head of the delegation, expressed profound pride in the deepening partnership between the UAE and Egypt. He emphasised that eight consecutive years of participation reflect an earnest commitment from both nations to fostering meaningful cultural exchange and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit within the heritage and traditional crafts sectors.

The pavilion presents an eloquently diverse portrait of Emirati heritage, encompassing not merely static displays but rather a living celebration of national identity. Visitors encounter an abundance of traditional handicrafts, immersive folk performances, enchanting poetry evenings and engaging literary competitions that masterfully evoke the spirit of yesteryear whilst demonstrating the vibrant continuity of these cherished traditions within contemporary Emirati society.

Youssef Ismail, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Saud bin Saqr Establishment for Youth Project Development, noted that the UAE’s participation showcases exhibits and artistic expressions that illuminate the enduring presence of national heritage in modern life. Previous editions have attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors, and this year’s offerings, featuring notably new exhibits presented for the first time, are anticipated to achieve even greater engagement.

Running through 24th October, Turathna assembles more than one thousand exhibitors and welcomes representatives from five nations including Jordan, Algeria, Latvia and Morocco. The exhibition creates an invaluable platform where artisans and creative practitioners exchange expertise, celebrate shared traditions and discover remarkable opportunities for growth and collaboration.
