UAE Suspends Iranian Airlines Operations Following International Aviation Restrictions

The General Civil Aviation Authority has announced a suspension of all flights operated by Iranian carriers to and from the Emirates, effective immediately, in response to broader international aviation sanctions.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the suspension of all flight operations conducted by Iranian airlines serving routes to and from the United Arab Emirates, effective from Thursday, 24th September, until further notice.

The decision reflects the implementation of internationally coordinated aviation restrictions, specifically the ban imposed by the United States on Iranian airlines operating from airports across multiple countries worldwide. The GCAA confirmed that this measure aligns the UAE’s aviation regulatory framework with broader international aviation policy.

The Authority has committed to maintaining transparent communication with relevant stakeholders and the general public regarding any developments in this matter. Officials emphasised their readiness to facilitate the resumption of standard air traffic services between the two nations once circumstances permit normalisation of operations.
