World Green Economy Organisation Forges Strategic Partnerships with Diplomatic Academy and Arab Towns Organisation

The World Green Economy Organisation has signed two significant memoranda of understanding to advance sustainability initiatives across the diplomatic, educational and municipal sectors throughout the Arab region.
The World Green Economy Organisation has established two transformative partnerships during the World Green Economy Summit 2026, reinforcing its commitment to advancing sustainable development across the region and beyond. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the organisation, signed complementary memoranda of understanding with both the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy and the Arab Towns Organisation, marking a significant expansion of collaborative efforts in green economy and sustainability initiatives.
The partnership with Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy creates a comprehensive framework for cooperation spanning three years, with automatic renewal provisions. This collaboration will focus on developing and delivering specialised executive and professional training programmes, workshops, and short courses tailored for representatives from both public and private sectors. Beyond training initiatives, the partnership encompasses applied research promotion, policy dialogue facilitation, and knowledge exchange activities, alongside the organisation of conferences, roundtables, and joint innovation initiatives. The Academy will gain access to World Green Economy Organisation platforms, enabling meaningful participation in its extensive programmes and activities.
Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director-General of the Academy, emphasised the significance of this alignment, noting that the transition to a green economy represents a key priority requiring enhanced international cooperation and closer harmonisation between environmental objectives and economic advancement. The partnership will strengthen institutional capacity through executive training, professional development, and collaborative research endeavours.
The second memorandum establishes a framework for cooperation with the Arab Towns Organisation, an entity representing more than 650 Arab cities and municipalities. This partnership concentrates on sustainable urban development, green economy implementation, and climate change mitigation strategies. Collaborative efforts will encompass capacity building, knowledge and best practice exchanges, and the organisation of joint workshops, seminars, and conferences. Importantly, the partnership will support Arab cities in adopting green economy principles and carbon-neutral solutions, facilitating their participation in the Global Green Economy Alliance through the World Green Economy Organisation’s Cities Platform.
These strategic partnerships reflect a concerted commitment to advancing sustainability across diplomatic, educational, municipal and commercial sectors, strengthening the region’s position as a leader in green economy development and climate action aligned with the Paris Agreement and the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
