World's Elite Female Triathletes Converge on Dubai for Championship Showdown

Nineteen of professional triathlon's most accomplished women gather at Al Mamzar for the final women's race of the T100 Triathlon World Tour season, with defending champion Julie Derron leading an extraordinary field of international competitors

The Dubai T100 Triathlon is poised to welcome nineteen of the world’s most distinguished female professional triathletes to Al Mamzar on 14th November, marking the culminating women’s race of this season’s T100 Triathlon World Tour. The event, organised and championed by the Professional Triathletes Organisation, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Sports Council, represents a pinnacle moment in the sport’s international calendar.

Switzerland’s Julie Derron heads the formidable roster, returning to defend her Dubai T100 title whilst endeavouring to extend her commanding lead in the T100 Race to Qatar standings. With the T100 Triathlon World Championship Final scheduled for Doha on 10th to 12th December, the Dubai competition serves as the final opportunity for athletes to accumulate crucial points and refine their positions before the season’s world champion is crowned.

The professional start list encompasses an exceptional constellation of talent from across the globe. Joining Derron are Great Britain’s Georgia Taylor-Brown, Germany’s Bianca Bogen, New Zealand’s Nicole van der Kaay, Spain’s Sara Pérez Sala, and fellow British competitors Kate Waugh, Jessica Fullagar, Lizzie Rayner, Sophie Evans and Megan McDonald. Austria’s Lisa Perterer, France’s Audrey Merle, Belgium’s Hanne De Vet, Denmark’s Katrine Christensen, Germany’s Caroline Pohle and Daniela Kleiser, Brazil’s Djenyfer Arnold, and Italy’s Francesca Crestani and Sara Sandrini complete this distinguished assembly of elite athleticism.

The T100 Triathlon World Tour this season comprises four women’s races and four men’s races, with both fields converging in Doha in December for the ultimate championship resolution. The prize structure underscores the event’s prestige, with each race offering a US$50,000 winner’s prize, doubling the amount awarded in the previous year and reflecting the organisation’s commitment to elevating professional triathlon’s status on the global sporting stage.

The closely contested standings across the women’s field heighten the significance of the Dubai competition, transforming it into a decisive battleground where positioning, strategy and performance converge to shape the season’s ultimate denouement.
