Yas Island Prepares for Triumphant Fourth Quarter of World-Class Events
Abu Dhabi's premier destination gears up for an extraordinary season of international sporting spectacles, musical performances and cultural celebrations as visitor numbers continue to soar.
Yas Island Abu Dhabi stands poised to welcome the world as it enters an exceptionally eventful final quarter, playing host to an impressive array of international sporting competitions, concerts and cultural programming. The destination’s calendar is crowned by the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, whilst also welcoming UFC 333, the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship and the Abu Dhabi Comedy Season.
This flourishing period represents a continuation of remarkable achievement. Throughout 2025, Yas Island received over 44 million visits, reflecting a robust year-on-year growth of 16 percent. The island’s theme parks demonstrated particular vitality, recording ten percent annual expansion, whilst its hospitality sector maintained impressive momentum with hotels achieving an average occupancy rate of 84 percent and reaching peaks of 90 percent. The average daily room rate expanded by 17 percent compared to the preceding year.
Across the sprawling destination, hotels, attractions, dining establishments, entertainment venues and transport infrastructure are synchronising comprehensive preparations to seamlessly accommodate the anticipated surge in visitor numbers throughout the forthcoming season. Such coordination underscores the destination’s maturity and sophistication as a world-class events hub.
