28 Degrees at Hudayriyat: The Beachside Table That Needs One Final Status Check

A resort restaurant shaped by Hudayriyat

28 Degrees belongs to the slower, holiday-minded side of Abu Dhabi dining. Set within Bab Al Nojoum on Hudayriyat Island, it was conceived as the resort’s all-day restaurant rather than a formal destination dining room: breakfast after an early beach walk, a long lunch between activities, or an unfussy dinner when staying on the island. The setting does much of the work. Indoor and outdoor seating, the open coastal environment and the relaxed pace of Bab Al Nojoum give it a character that a city-centre café cannot replicate.

International food with a strong grill thread

The food is broadly international, which makes sense for a resort serving families and overnight guests with different appetites. Current and recent listings repeatedly point to pizza, salads, burgers, fish, steaks and grilled meats rather than a single regional cuisine. The stronger diner feedback has centred on the grill: mixed grill and shish tawook are recurring favourites, with generous portions and the sea-view atmosphere often mentioned alongside the food. It is the kind of menu designed to cover breakfast through dinner without forcing the guest to leave the island.

Why this package is on hold

There is one issue that cannot be written around. Hudayriyat Island’s own current destination pages still list 28 Degrees and publish opening hours of 07:00 to 00:00. Zomato also shows the restaurant trading. However, a current Google-linked business record marks it permanently closed, while Restaurant Guru says it “may be permanently closed”. Those sources are too contradictory for Simply Abu Dhabi to state confidently that the venue is operating.

That makes this a useful editorial feature, but not yet a publishable one. The restaurant’s identity, location, menu style and contact details remain well supported; its live operating status does not.
