Abu Dhabi Cycling Club has unveiled its readiness for the forthcoming 2026–2027 sporting season, which commences tomorrow with the opening race of the sixth edition of the Falcon Daman Race Series. The series comprises six competitive fixtures distributed throughout the season, establishing a comprehensive calendar for the cycling community.
In a significant development for grassroots participation, the new season will feature dedicated school-based activities for the second consecutive year. Commencing on 7 October and continuing through March 2027, these initiatives will engage more than twenty educational institutions from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra. The educational programme reflects the club’s commitment to promoting cycling across diverse regions of the emirate whilst identifying and cultivating emerging sporting talent.
Al Nekhaira Al Khyeli, Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, outlined the club’s comprehensive preparation strategy. The organisation has implemented an intensive training programme for its competitive athletes, incorporating overseas training camps in Switzerland, Turkmenistan and Belgium. The squad has also participated in the Tour of Russia and numerous international championships, experiences designed to enhance physical conditioning and provide valuable competitive exposure to international cyclists operating under varied weather conditions.
The international engagement programme represents a strategic investment in athlete development, preparing the club’s representatives for forthcoming domestic and regional competitions. The club has mobilised the support of its national corporate sponsors to finalise seasonal preparations, establishing ambitious targets for the year ahead.
The club’s objectives build upon a distinguished previous season, which culminated in the prestigious General Excellence Shield and multiple medal achievements across various championships. This foundation positions Abu Dhabi Cycling Club to pursue continued excellence within the competitive cycling landscape.
