FNC Advances Dialogue with Iranian Parliament at International Assembly

Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, leading the Federal National Council's delegation at the 153rd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Tanzania, has met with Iranian parliamentary representatives to explore enhanced cooperation and regional dialogue.

At the 153rd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania, Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, head of the Federal National Council (FNC) Group within the IPU and Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, convened with Manouchehr Mottaki, head of Iran’s parliamentary delegation, to discuss prospects for strengthened parliamentary cooperation.

The exchange underscored the pivotal contribution that parliamentary institutions make in fostering robust relations among nations whilst consolidating the foundations upon which regional and international peace, security and stability are built. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasised the role such bodies play in supporting sustainable development initiatives and advancing mutual interests across borders.

Addressing the complex challenges facing the region, Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted the necessity of candid and forthright dialogue that genuinely reflects the aspirations of regional peoples. Such conversations, he noted, must yield consensual solutions that reinforce both regional and global security architecture.

The Federal National Council affirmed its commitment to advancing parliamentary diplomacy through expanded channels of dialogue and communication with parliaments worldwide, reflecting the United Arab Emirates’ principled stance on international cooperation. This commitment exemplifies the nation’s dedication to fostering values of constructive engagement and mutual understanding on the global stage.

Both delegations acknowledged the indispensable role parliaments play in enhancing communication and collaboratively addressing matters of shared concern within international forums. They recognised parliamentary institutions as vital mechanisms for bridging differences and tackling the multifaceted regional and international challenges of our era.

The representatives reaffirmed their commitment to sustained dialogue, coordination and consultation grounded in mutual interest, emphasising how such engagement serves to strengthen good-neighbourly relations and fortify regional security and stability.
