UAE to Participate in World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok

The United Arab Emirates will take part in the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Thailand, with Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, leading the Ministry of Finance delegation.

The United Arab Emirates will participate in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 12 to 18 October. Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, will lead the Ministry of Finance delegation to this significant gathering of global financial institutions and economic leaders.

The UAE’s participation underscores its steadfast commitment to contributing actively to shaping the global economic landscape and to strengthening international and regional partnerships with leading financial institutions. Through this engagement, the nation seeks to address contemporary economic shifts and to develop innovative sustainable development financing solutions that benefit the broader global community.

Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini emphasised the strategic importance of the occasion, noting that the Annual Meetings provide a platform for aligning perspectives, deepening international economic dialogue and addressing the current shifts reshaping the financial landscape. He expressed the UAE’s keen interest in leveraging these engagements to build trusted partnerships and to highlight innovative financing solutions that support inclusive development and strengthen economic resilience across regions and nations.

The delegation will participate in a comprehensive series of high-level events arranged throughout the meetings. These include the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan Ministers and Governors Meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, as well as the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting. The delegation will attend the Annual Meetings Plenary Session and will convene with the World Bank Group President Ajay Banga during the Meeting of Arab Governors.

Discussions will also encompass sessions of the International Monetary and Financial Committee focusing on global developments and economic prospects. The programme will feature a UAE Banks Reception, designed to deepen strategic ties between UAE financial institutions and their regional and international counterparts, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding.

Beyond the formal agenda, the delegation will conduct a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of partner countries, seeking to deepen bilateral relations and explore valuable opportunities for financial cooperation and shared economic advancement.
