A Conversation on Vision and Legacy: The UAE’s Journey Between Tradition and Innovation

We find ourselves drawn into a profound exploration of the United Arab Emirates’ remarkable ascent as the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre presents a thought provoking discussion centred upon a compelling new work that examines the nation’s extraordinary evolution.

The Centre, in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Berlin, orchestrated a sophisticated book discussion devoted to “Vision, Change and Excellence: The United Arab Emirates between Tradition and Innovation” by German author Thorben Olschewski. This engaging conversation unfolded as part of the Centre’s cultural programming at Frankfurt Book Fair 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious literary gatherings.

The discussion illuminated the UAE’s pioneering journey as a nation that has masterfully navigated the delicate balance between honouring its cherished traditions and embracing transformative innovation. This thematic exploration speaks to the very essence of the Emirati experience: a commitment to progress that remains eternally tethered to cultural authenticity and historical continuity.

Through such intellectual endeavours, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre continues its vital mission of promoting understanding of Arabic language and culture on the global stage. The Centre’s presence at this esteemed international forum reflects its dedication to fostering meaningful dialogue about the UAE’s distinctive position in our contemporary world, where visionary ambition and steadfast tradition flow together in harmonious confluence.
