The Airport Show 2026 Opens with Vision for Dubai's Aviation Future

The 25th edition of The Airport Show has inaugurated at Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together international aviation leaders to showcase innovations in airport development, digital transformation and sustainable growth.

The 25th edition of The Airport Show has opened at Dubai World Trade Centre, drawing together more than 150 exhibitors from over 30 countries to explore the future of aviation infrastructure and technology. The three-day event, running until 14 October, serves as a distinguished platform for the global aviation community to exchange expertise, forge partnerships and unveil the latest innovations shaping the sector.

H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, formally inaugurated the exhibition, reaffirming Dubai’s commitment to advancing its position as a preeminent global aviation hub. His Highness emphasised the emirate’s strategic investment in airport infrastructure and pioneering technologies designed to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen competitive advantage and foster sustainable development across the aviation ecosystem.

The exhibition encompasses comprehensive showcases of airport development solutions, cutting-edge digital transformation initiatives, advanced aviation security systems and sustainability frameworks. Participating organisations include Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, Smiths Detection, Empower, Schneider Electric, Emaratech, dnata, Amadeus, Dubai Air Navigation Services, Vanderlande, ADB SAFEGATE, NAFFCO Aviation and Dubai Police, alongside an international German pavilion.

A significant focus of the exhibition centres on Dubai’s ambitious Al Maktoum International Airport expansion project. The airport’s inaugural phase is anticipated to commence operations in 2032, accommodating 150 million passengers annually. Upon full completion, the facility will serve 260 million passengers and handle 12 million tonnes of air cargo each year, with construction progressing substantially ahead of schedule.

Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, highlighted the pivotal role of Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects in orchestrating airport infrastructure development. He noted that Dubai continues to elevate its global standing through strategic investment in aviation capacity, strengthening its position as a critical connectivity bridge between Eastern and Western markets.

Suzanne Al Anani, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, reflected on the exhibition’s quarter-century legacy. She observed that The Airport Show has evolved from its founding vision into a prominent international gathering, consistently demonstrating how regional and international aviation leaders collaborate to advance innovation and shape the industry’s trajectory.

Complementing the main exhibition, the event encompasses the 13th Global Airport Leaders’ Forum, the Women in Aviation Middle East Conference, Airport Security Middle East, and the Air Traffic Control Forum, collectively providing a comprehensive platform for examining the aviation sector’s most pressing challenges and emerging opportunities.
