Dubai Unveils Pioneering Family AI Literacy Platform to Guide Next Generation

GenDubAI represents a transformative educational initiative designed to empower families with the knowledge and tools to navigate artificial intelligence responsibly, reflecting Dubai's commitment to preparing future generations for a technology-driven world.
The Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence has unveiled GenDubAI, a comprehensively designed digital platform that represents a significant advancement in family-centred artificial intelligence education. This innovative initiative, developed in partnership with the Community Development Authority and Dubai Future Foundation, addresses the pressing need for parents and children to develop a sophisticated understanding of AI technologies and their responsible application in daily life.
Designed with families at its core, GenDubAI serves as an interactive educational ecosystem tailored for children aged eight to fifteen, whilst simultaneously providing parents with essential foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence principles, tools and implications. The platform encompasses practical, accessible content that authentically reflects Emirati values and cultural identity, creating a harmonious bridge between technological advancement and cultural preservation.
The initiative aligns seamlessly with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the UAE’s Year of the Family, emphasising the fundamental belief that preparing future generations for technological engagement must be accompanied by robust awareness, clear values and demonstrated responsibility. The platform encourages constructive dialogue within families, transforming technology into a collaborative learning environment where parents remain meaningfully involved in their children’s intellectual development.
Available in both Arabic and English, GenDubAI offers a mobile-friendly interface that facilitates seamless access for contemporary families. The platform thoughtfully addresses essential questions surrounding artificial intelligence usage, provides evidence-based guidance for effective and secure technology engagement, and actively cultivates critical thinking and creative capacities in younger users.
Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of the Community Development Authority, emphasised that artificial intelligence has become fundamentally woven into the lived experience of younger generations, placing responsibility upon families and broader society to cultivate awareness and equip children to engage with these technologies with confidence and ethical awareness. She articulated that Dubai’s approach to technological leadership extends beyond mere advancement, encompassing the positive influence such innovations exert upon individuals, families and future generations.
Khalfan Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Future Foundation, highlighted that the UAE has established itself among the world’s foremost nations in artificial intelligence adoption, a development paralleled by increasing smart device engagement among children both within and beyond educational settings. He described knowledge of safe and responsible AI usage as a profound gift parents can bestow upon their children, enabling them to flourish within the contemporary technological landscape.
The platform has been architected around the concept of ‘family moments’, weaving educational content into quotidian family life and fostering meaningful conversations about artificial intelligence within domestic spaces. Designed with continuous evolution in mind, GenDubAI will expand through ongoing content development and emerging educational pathways, remaining responsive to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies and evolving family requirements.
