Thirty-Four Ajman University Researchers Recognised Among World's Most Influential Scientists

Ajman University celebrates exceptional scholarly achievement as researchers secure places in the prestigious Stanford–Elsevier 2026 ranking of the globe's most cited and impactful academics.

Ajman University has achieved a remarkable distinction, with thirty-four of its researchers named among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the 2026 Stanford–Elsevier list, a prestigious ranking that identifies academics whose published work has demonstrated substantial citation impact across the international scholarly community.

The distinction proves particularly noteworthy given that twelve of these researchers have been recognised in the career-long impact category, a testament to the enduring influence and scholarly significance of their contributions to their respective fields. The Stanford–Elsevier ranking employs rigorously standardised bibliometric indicators, including total citations, the H-index and the co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, drawing upon comprehensive Scopus citation data curated by Elsevier to provide a comprehensive assessment of research influence across all scientific disciplines and subfields.

Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, reflected upon this achievement with evident pride. “The inclusion of 34 Ajman University researchers among the world’s most influential scientists reflects the strength of our research community and the growing reach of its scholarly contributions,” he remarked.

The Chancellor further emphasised the institution’s philosophical commitment to advancing human knowledge and societal progress. “As a non-profit institution, we view investment in research as an investment in the future and in the progress of society. We are committed to empowering our researchers to generate knowledge that extends beyond academia, addresses global challenges, strengthens international partnerships, and contributes to meaningful, lasting solutions,” he added.

This recognition underscores Ajman University’s position as a centre of scholarly excellence within the United Arab Emirates, demonstrating the calibre of its academic faculty and their contributions to the advancement of global scientific understanding.
