Dubai Appreciation Award for Community Service Establishes Board of Trustees

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has formally constituted the governance structure for the prestigious honour recognising exceptional contributions to community service across the emirate.
In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, has issued Decision No. (25) of 2026, establishing the Board of Trustees for the Dubai Appreciation Award for Community Service. This formal institutional framework reflects the emirate’s enduring commitment to honouring individuals and organisations whose dedication enriches the social fabric of the community.
The Board of Trustees, which assumes its responsibilities with immediate effect, has been assembled with considerable thoughtfulness, bringing together figures of distinction and proven expertise in governance, charitable endeavours and community development. Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri serves as Chairman, providing strategic oversight and direction to the initiative, whilst the Director-General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai assumes the role of Vice Chairman, ensuring alignment with the emirate’s values and priorities.
The Board’s membership encompasses individuals of considerable standing: Saeed Mohammed Harib Al Falahi, Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Ahmed Majid Al Badwawi, Mohammed Hassan Al Shehhi and Hend Mohammed Fekri bring diverse perspectives and experience to their roles. The composition further includes representation from Dubai’s Community Development Authority, ensuring institutional connectivity and collaborative synergy, alongside the Secretary General of the Award itself.
This structural arrangement exemplifies Dubai’s sophisticated approach to recognising and celebrating community service. By establishing a formally constituted Board of Trustees, the emirate demonstrates its recognition that meaningful acknowledgement of charitable contribution requires thoughtful governance, clear institutional frameworks and the engagement of respected figures capable of identifying and honouring excellence across the spectrum of community engagement.
The decision underscores the vision of the emirate’s leadership in fostering a culture wherein service to the community, charitable contribution and civic commitment are recognised as essential expressions of the values that define Dubai’s identity. The Award itself stands as testament to the belief that individual endeavour, when directed toward the betterment of collective welfare, merits formal acknowledgement and celebration.
