Poetry in Conversation with Art at 421 Arts Campus
There exists a profound and transcendent connection between the visual and the written word, a beautiful intersection where contemplation of an artwork can awaken dormant memories and emotions, transforming them into verses of startling eloquence. At 421 Arts Campus, we invite you to discover this magical alchemy for yourself.
We present an exceptional opportunity to participate in ‘A Writing Practice’, an intimate creative gathering devoted entirely to the art of poetry. Led by Sarah Afaneh, this thoughtfully curated session will unfold within the contemplative space of our captivating exhibition ‘Archipelago of Whispers’, an immersive artistic landscape designed to inspire and provoke meaningful reflection.
Throughout this season of ‘A Writing Practice’, poetry takes centre stage as the primary focus, with each session thoughtfully designed to maintain the essential elements of joy and playfulness in the writing process. You will explore the delightful and deeply personal experience of transforming artistic inspiration into poetic expression, discovering how the careful observation of a work of art can evoke previously forgotten sensations, resurrect cherished memories, and ultimately crystallise these ephemeral moments into the enduring beauty of verse.
This is an invitation extended to all seekers of creative expression, regardless of your previous experience with poetry or the written word. No prior knowledge is required; only an open heart and curious mind are necessary to participate fully in this enriching experience.
The session takes place on October 22, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Registration is now open, with further details available through the official channels of 421 Arts Campus.
