Zayed Educational Complex Opens in Umm Al Qaiwain
Deputy Ruler inaugurates state-of-the-art institution designed to nurture excellence in education through innovation and comprehensive student development
The Zayed Educational Complex in Umm Al Qaiwain has been officially inaugurated, marking a significant advancement in the emirate’s commitment to educational excellence and infrastructural development. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Deputy Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, presided over the opening ceremony, underscoring the strategic importance of this institution to the nation’s educational landscape.
The complex represents a comprehensive educational environment serving students from kindergarten through Grade 12, embodying contemporary pedagogical principles and international best practices. Its thoughtfully conceived facilities encompass modern, purpose-built classrooms, state-of-the-art scientific and technology laboratories, and comprehensive sports amenities, all designed to create an intellectually stimulating atmosphere that encourages creative thinking and practical skill development.
The opening ceremony reflected the UAE’s rich cultural heritage, commencing with welcoming performances and cultural presentations delivered by the complex’s students. These performances gracefully illustrated aspects of national identity and Emirati traditions, establishing an inspiring context for the institution’s mission. A detailed presentation on the complex’s educational facilities and pedagogical approach followed, providing insight into its commitment to integrated learning.
During his comprehensive tour, His Highness visited numerous classrooms, specialised laboratories and educational spaces, observing instructional practices and student activities firsthand. He witnessed engaging science demonstrations in the physics and robotics laboratories, where students showcased their practical understanding and innovative capabilities. Sports activities organised as part of Health Week further illustrated the complex’s holistic approach to student wellbeing and development.
Particularly noteworthy were the student-led sustainability projects displayed throughout the complex, which demonstrated remarkable environmental awareness and the application of scientific knowledge to devise innovative solutions addressing contemporary challenges. These initiatives exemplify the institution’s commitment to fostering not only academic excellence but also responsible global citizenship.
The inauguration concluded with a visit to the theatre building, where His Highness acknowledged the dedication of students and teaching staff through commemorative photographs, recognising their collective contribution to the complex’s promising inauguration.
