UAE President visits German Bundestag to deepen parliamentary ties

He was received by Julia Klöckner, President of the Bundestag, alongside members of the German parliament. The two leaders discussed the longstanding partnership between the UAE and Germany, placing particular emphasis on strengthening ties between their parliaments and enhancing cultural and intellectual exchange.
During their meeting, the pair addressed a range of issues of mutual interest and reiterated a shared commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence. His Highness highlighted the UAE’s long-standing approach of building bridges of communication and cooperation with nations worldwide, and he underlined the role of parliamentary institutions in fostering development, peace and stability.
As a formal mark of the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed signed the visitors’ book at the Bundestag, expressing his pleasure at touring the historic parliamentary chamber. The gesture was noted by German hosts as reflecting the depth and warmth of bilateral ties between the two countries.
The UAE president was accompanied by members of his official delegation, including Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, together with other officials.
Officials on both sides described the discussions as an opportunity to broaden parliamentary cooperation as an important pillar of UAE–Germany relations and as a means of strengthening people-to-people links. The visit forms part of His Highness’s wider state visit to Germany, which seeks to consolidate bilateral engagement across political, economic and cultural fields.
