Abu Dhabi to host fifth Healthcare Leaders Summit on 22–23 September

The two‑day forum will convene more than 100 speakers and about 3,000 delegates to discuss global standards in healthcare, with PureHealth as partner and CME sessions from SSMC.

Summit to explore standards, innovation and population health

The fifth Healthcare Leaders Summit will be held in Abu Dhabi on 22 and 23 September, gathering policymakers, health executives, scientists and clinicians to examine major shifts shaping healthcare delivery. Organised by Forbes Middle East and held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the event is expected to attract over 100 speakers and around 3,000 participants.

Running under the theme “Defining Global Standards in Healthcare Excellence,” the programme is organised around six pillars: catalysing progress on excellence; longevity and precision health; advancing population health; smart care ecosystems; accelerating scientific breakthroughs through global collaboration; and mobilising capital for growth, value and sustainability.

Speakers from Abu Dhabi and international institutions are on the agenda. Local representation includes Dr. Amin Hussain Al Ameeri, assistant undersecretary of the health regulation sector at the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and Dr. Asma Al Mannaei, executive director of the health life sciences sector at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. Leading healthcare executives include Shaista Asif, group CEO of PureHealth. International contributors include Huda Ayas of George Washington University, Dr. Cheng‑Kai Kao of University of Chicago Medicine, Professor Shafi Ahmed of Barts Health NHS Trust, and Dr. Usamah (Sam) Mossallam of Henry Ford Health International.

The summit will feature Doctor’s Circle, a dedicated strand offering continuing medical education‑accredited sessions delivered by Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, a PureHealth entity and flagship centre for complex care in the UAE. Participating physicians and specialists in Doctor’s Circle include Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad Jan, consultant and chair of paediatric surgery at SSMC; Dr. Saeed Husain Almarzooqi, consultant hepatologist at SSMC; Prof. Faisal Abaalkhail, consultant gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre; and Dr. Marian Khatib, chief of the Breast Cancer Center at American Hospital Dubai, alongside other local and international clinicians.

PureHealth is the summit partner, with event partners Al Khayyat Investments, APEX Health and Capital Health. Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City serves as the CME accreditation partner, while the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation is a supporting partner and the Emirates Medical Association is the scientific partner.

Forbes Middle East’s CEO and Editor‑in‑Chief, Khuloud Al Omian, said the edition aims to move beyond forecasting change to focus on practical implementation and partnership‑building that will advance healthcare outcomes—building on the UAE’s established position in the sector.

The gathering offers a platform for exchange across clinical, regulatory and investment spheres, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s growing role as a regional hub for healthcare innovation and specialised care.
