Apollo Hospitals Positions UAE as Hub for Healthcare Innovation and Regional Integration
The President and CEO of Apollo Hospitals' division has underscored the UAE's prominence as a model for healthcare advancement and innovation adoption during the Healthcare Leaders Summit in Abu Dhabi.
The United Arab Emirates has established itself as a leading exemplar of regional integration and innovation adoption, supported by its sophisticated investment climate and healthcare infrastructure, according to Dr. Madhu Sasidhar, President and CEO of Apollo Hospitals’ Hospitals Division.
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency during the Healthcare Leaders Summit – Abu Dhabi 2026, Dr. Sasidhar outlined Apollo’s commitment to expanding its presence across the region, whilst emphasising Abu Dhabi’s critical role as a centre for technological and medical advancement. The organisation currently operates an advanced clinic in Dubai that serves both UAE residents and nationals from across the GCC member states, and is actively pursuing expanded regional partnerships to strengthen its footprint.
The summit, held at Emirates Palace under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and organised in partnership with PureHealth by Forbes Middle East, brought together an exceptional gathering of over 100 speakers and approximately 3,000 participants. The event convened around the theme of “Defining Global Standards in Healthcare Excellence”, reflecting the region’s commitment to advancing medical practice.
Among the critical challenges addressed by Dr. Sasidhar was the persistent fragmentation that characterises global healthcare systems, where hospitals, pharmacies, clinics and home-care services frequently operate in isolation. He highlighted artificial intelligence as a transformative technology capable of bridging these divides and substantially improving the patient experience throughout the care continuum.
Apollo’s expansive healthcare network demonstrates the scale of integrated services required to address such fragmentation. The organisation operates more than 70 hospitals, maintains partnerships with over 7,000 pharmacies and manages 400 clinics alongside diagnostic centres across its footprint. With this substantial infrastructure as its foundation, the group is pursuing strategic partnerships with technology companies and healthcare providers throughout the region, leveraging Abu Dhabi’s distinctive position as an innovation hub.
