UAE Labour Market Coordination Council Charts Progress on Workplace Initiatives

The UAE Labour Market Coordination Council held its fifth meeting in Dubai, chaired by Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The gathering brought together representatives from relevant federal and local government entities to examine developments shaping the nation’s employment landscape.
The Council’s agenda encompassed a comprehensive review of labour market indicators and contemporary initiatives designed to enhance coordination across government bodies. Discussions centred on flexible measures introduced to support business continuity and address the requirements of private-sector establishments and their workforces. Members examined updates on the Establishments Bundle programme and reviewed initiatives promoting family growth within the employment sector.

Established through a Cabinet decision in 2024, the UAE Labour Market Coordination Council strengthens coordination and integration among federal and local entities concerned with employment matters. Its mandate encompasses reviewing and aligning relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and initiatives, whilst monitoring local and international labour market reports, findings, and statistics. Through these efforts, the Council contributes to enhanced labour market competitiveness and reinforces the UAE’s position of global leadership in employment policy and practice.
