Abu Dhabi’s Sustainable Business Leadership Forum Returns for Landmark Tenth Edition
The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi convenes regional leaders to explore nature-positive economics and the integration of natural and social capital into business strategy.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Forum will mark a significant milestone as it returns for its tenth annual edition on 30th September and 1st October 2026. Hosted at Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Hotel and organised by the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group—a division of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD)—the forum brings together prominent business and policy leaders from across the region to examine the intersection of economic prosperity, environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
This year’s gathering operates under the theme “Redefining Prosperity: How a Nature Positive Economy and Valuing Natural and Social Capitals Shape Sustainable Development.” The focus reflects an evolving understanding within the business community that enduring prosperity cannot be separated from the health of natural systems and the strength of social foundations upon which all economic activity depends.
The forum aims to bridge the considerable gap between internationally recognised sustainability frameworks and their practical implementation within Abu Dhabi’s regulatory and business landscape. By convening these diverse voices, organisers hope to catalyse the development of an economy that is simultaneously resilient, inclusive and genuinely regenerative.
Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of EAD, emphasised the transformative potential of sustained collaboration between scientific expertise, coherent policy and visionary business leadership. She stated that embedding natural and social capital into economic decision-making represents both an essential imperative and a distinctive opportunity for Abu Dhabi’s continued regional leadership.
The forum’s lead sponsors, Dolphin Energy Limited and TAQA Group, bring substantial commitment to the sustainability agenda. Obaid Abdulla Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive of Dolphin Energy Limited, highlighted the fundamental importance of protecting natural and social capital as essential to sustaining operations, cultivating stakeholder trust and delivering value across the broader ecosystem. Noel Aoun, Chief Strategy Officer at TAQA Group, underscored the company’s role in delivering critical utilities infrastructure whilst ensuring that economic growth delivers genuine value to communities and employs natural resources responsibly.
Abdulla Mohammed Al Remeithi, Executive Director of Integrated Environment Policy and Planning at Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, observed that the forum has evolved over its first decade into a trusted platform where organisations explore practical methodologies for embedding sustainability into strategic planning and governance structures. The 2026 programme will feature perspectives from across the Gulf Cooperation Council region and beyond, examining how nature-positive approaches can unlock sustained value for businesses, communities and ecosystems.
