Sharjah Safari Run Returns for Fourth Instalment This October
The beloved community running event makes its return to Sharjah Safari, coinciding with the opening of the attraction's fifth season and welcoming participants of all abilities.
The Sharjah Sports Council is delighted to announce the fourth edition of the Sharjah Safari Run, taking place on Sunday, 4th October, in partnership with local sponsors and organisers. The event continues to build upon the considerable success of previous iterations, whilst marking an auspicious occasion with the concurrent opening of the fifth season at Sharjah Safari, one of the emirate’s most cherished tourist destinations.
Reflecting the inclusive spirit that has characterised this annual fixture, the 2026 edition welcomes runners of all ages and ability levels. The race programme encompasses four distinct categories to ensure accessibility across the running community: a 10-kilometre course for seasoned distance runners, a 5-kilometre option for intermediate participants, a 3-kilometre track for recreational joggers, and a 1-kilometre route ideal for younger participants and those seeking a lighter challenge.
Organisers are targeting a robust turnout of 600 participants, testament to the growing appeal of this community event. The morning’s proceedings will commence with staggered starts beginning at 6:15 AM, with the final participants crossing the line by 9:00 AM, allowing for a comprehensive yet time-efficient experience for all involved.
Every participant will receive a commemorative medal, whilst the top three finishers in each race category will be recognised with special honours, celebrating their achievements across the varying distances and challenge levels. This recognition programme underscores the event’s commitment to acknowledging excellence at every level of participation.
