Ministry of Finance Charts Digital Path Forward with eInvoicing Awareness Event in Ras Al Khaimah

Senior government officials and business leaders gathered in Ras Al Khaimah to showcase the progress of the UAE's eInvoicing System, now in its advanced testing phase with the 5-Corner Model fully operational.

The Ministry of Finance, working in partnership with the Federal Tax Authority, convened an important awareness gathering in Ras Al Khaimah to update the business community on the latest developments surrounding the UAE’s eInvoicing System.

The event drew attendance from Younis Haji AlKhoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other senior figures from the commercial sector. The gathering represented the concluding session in this year’s awareness programme, which will resume in 2027 with particular emphasis on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.

Since launching its Pilot Phase in July 2026, the UAE eInvoicing Programme has advanced considerably, with the 5-Corner Model now operational. This framework enables businesses and Accredited Service Providers to conduct comprehensive testing of the invoicing process, identify and address operational challenges, and position themselves for the mandatory implementation commencing 1 January 2027.

Mr AlKhoori emphasised the significance of this initiative within the broader context of the nation’s digital transformation agenda. He explained that the eInvoicing System establishes a standardised, interoperable framework that enhances automation, efficiency and accuracy in commercial transactions. Businesses subject to the requirements have until 30 October 2026 to appoint an Accredited Service Provider if they generate annual revenues of AED 50 million or above.

Abdulaziz Al Mulla, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, commended the measured progress achieved thus far, stressing the importance of allowing businesses adequate time to prepare for the transition. He underscored that the system promotes voluntary tax compliance through secure digital mechanisms whilst delivering comprehensive benefits across the tax ecosystem.

The technical presentation outlined the essential requirements for businesses seeking to participate. Companies must select an Accredited Service Provider, complete registration through the EmaraTax platform, and establish technical connections with their chosen provider. Upon integration completion, businesses may commence exchanging electronic invoices and testing their reporting of tax data to Corner 5.

Mohammed Musabbeh Al Nuaimi highlighted the instrumental role played by the Ministry of Finance and Federal Tax Authority in delivering workshops throughout the emirates, providing practical guidance and support to the entire business community as they transition to this integrated digital ecosystem.

The implementation of Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025 establishes the regulatory framework for this transition. The extended deadline for appointing service providers reflects careful assessment of market readiness, including consideration of the available pool of pre-approved providers and feedback from businesses seeking greater choice and competitive pricing.
