Mubadala and Together AI forge strategic partnership to advance UAE’s artificial intelligence infrastructure
Abu Dhabi's sovereign investor joins forces with leading AI platform provider to establish regional capabilities and strengthen the Emirates' position as a global innovation hub
Mubadala Investment Company and Together AI have announced a strategic partnership designed to explore and develop artificial intelligence infrastructure opportunities across the United Arab Emirates. The collaboration reflects the growing importance of AI to the region’s economic future and positions Abu Dhabi as a centre for cutting-edge technological advancement.
Together AI, founded in 2022 and headquartered in San Francisco, specialises in providing a comprehensive AI platform encompassing inference, model development and accelerated computational resources. The company will establish a local presence in Abu Dhabi, bringing its sophisticated capabilities and research expertise closer to the region’s growing developer community and organisations building generative AI applications.
This partnership builds upon Mubadala’s substantial commitment to Together AI’s growth trajectory. In July 2026, Mubadala participated in the company’s Series C financing round with a contribution of US$100 million, joining a distinguished group of global technology and financial investors.
Ali Eid AlMheiri, Executive Director of Diversified Assets at Mubadala’s UAE Investments Platform, emphasised the strategic significance of the collaboration: “At Mubadala, we focus on attracting leading technology companies, deepening local capabilities and creating an environment where innovation can move from research to real-world application. Our collaboration with Together AI supports that ambition by strengthening a critical part of the AI ecosystem and expanding access to the infrastructure.”
The partnership directly supports the Emirate’s overarching vision to develop sovereign capabilities throughout the entire AI value chain, reinforce its reputation as an international hub for applied innovation, and expand technical expertise amongst local talent and institutions. By working together, Mubadala and Together AI aim to identify and pursue strategic opportunities that accelerate the development and deployment of artificial intelligence solutions tailored to UAE market needs and regional requirements.
Vipul Ved Prakash, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Together AI, highlighted the compelling market dynamics driving the expansion: “The demand for open-source AI is outpacing the compute available to serve it. Developers want open models because they can own, shape and deploy them however they want, but that only works if the infrastructure underneath is fast, efficient, and actually there when you need it. We’re scaling that infrastructure globally, and Mubadala is exactly the kind of partner that helps us do it at speed.”
