Crown Prince Commends UAE Team’s Success at 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received the delegation that represented the Emirates at the prestigious multilateral economic forum, highlighting the nation's strengthened position within the global development agenda.

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has received the UAE team that participated in the 18th BRICS Summit, held in New Delhi, India, on 12-13 September 2026.

The reception, held at Barzat Al Bateen, underscored the Crown Prince’s recognition of the delegation’s instrumental contributions to advancing the Emirates’ strategic objectives on the international stage. His Highness commended the team’s comprehensive efforts, which encompassed meticulous preparation, seamless coordination among relevant government entities, and sustained engagement throughout the summit proceedings.

Advancing Economic Partnership and Global Cooperation

The Crown Prince highlighted how the UAE team’s performance had strengthened the nation’s economic and trade partnerships whilst amplifying its presence and active participation in regional and international dialogue. These outcomes align with the Emirates’ broader strategic priorities of supporting multilateral cooperation and fostering constructive engagement across developing and emerging economies.

UAE’s Growing Role in BRICS

The Emirates’ participation in the New Delhi summit marked its third engagement as a BRICS member. Since its establishment in 2009, the bloc has evolved into a significant platform for promoting economic cooperation among member countries and enhancing the participation of developing and emerging economies within the global economic architecture. The UAE’s membership underscores its commitment to supporting south-south cooperation and diversifying its strategic partnerships beyond traditional frameworks.
