Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Commends Khalifa University’s Research Excellence and Innovation Leadership
The Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region has reviewed the university's pivotal role in advancing scientific research, fostering entrepreneurship and driving the UAE's transition to a knowledge-based economy.
His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, has engaged with Khalifa University of Science and Technology to examine the institution’s research programmes and scientific initiatives that are shaping the academic landscape and economic development of the Al Ain Region.
The delegation from Khalifa University, led by Professor Ebrahim Saeed Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University, presented a comprehensive overview of the university’s scholarly achievements and the instrumental contributions of its research centres to critical industrial sectors. The discussion centred on how these endeavours align with the nation’s economic priorities and strategic objectives.
A cornerstone of the meeting focused on Khalifa University’s commitment to translating theoretical research into practical, commercially viable applications. The engagement was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Ain Region, alongside senior members of the university delegation including Dr Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Senior Advisor to the Chairman’s Office, and Professor Yahya Zweiri, Senior Director of the Research and Innovation Centre for Graphene and 2D Materials and Director of the Advanced Research and Innovation Centre.
