GPSSA Board Charts Course for Enhanced AI Integration and Pension System Growth

The General Pension and Social Security Authority reports robust expansion across all key metrics, whilst advancing technological innovation and Zero Government Bureaucracy initiatives

The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) has demonstrated substantial progress across financial, investment and institutional performance indicators, according to findings reviewed at the fourth Board meeting of 2026, chaired by Mubarak Rashed Al Mansoori.

The Board’s assessment encompassed strategic advancement in Agentic AI adoption and Zero Government Bureaucracy implementation, positioning the Authority to deliver more efficient and responsive services to insured Emiratis, pensioners and employers alike.

Impressive Growth Across All Sectors

GPSSA’s membership and beneficiary base continues to expand meaningfully. The number of insured Emiratis registered with the Authority reached 190,063 in August 2026, representing a substantial increase of 13.6 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2025. The pensioner population similarly grew, rising by 10.4 per cent to 35,015 individuals, whilst the beneficiary base expanded by 2 per cent year-on-year to 18,585 members.

The financial dimension of these developments reflects the Authority’s expanding role in protecting retirement security. By the end of August 2026, the combined value of pensions, end-of-service benefits and compensation reached approximately AED5.03 billion, representing growth of 14.6 per cent from the equivalent 2025 period.

Strategic Priorities and Governance

Al Mansoori reaffirmed GPSSA’s commitment to transforming national priorities into concrete operational outcomes, emphasising the integration of advanced technologies to strengthen institutional resilience and enhance service delivery. The Board’s focus encompasses protecting pension rights, reinforcing governance frameworks, anticipating emerging needs and implementing continuous system improvements.

These efforts reflect recognition that maintaining public confidence in the pension system remains fundamental to supporting both the social wellbeing and financial security of Emirati families. The Authority’s expanded responsibilities underscore its pivotal contribution to the UAE’s long-term stability and prosperity.
