UAE’s Federal Tax Authority Strengthens International Cooperation at BRICS Tax Meeting in New Delhi

The Federal Tax Authority reinforces its commitment to global tax administration excellence through participation in the BRICS Tax Experts and Tax Heads Meeting 2026, fostering knowledge exchange and collaborative approaches to emerging challenges.
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has participated in the BRICS Tax Experts and Tax Heads Meeting 2026, convened in New Delhi by India’s Central Board of Direct Taxes. The gathering brought together heads of tax authorities and tax experts representing ten BRICS tax administrations, creating a significant platform for advancing international cooperation in tax administration.
The FTA delegation was led by Abdulaziz Al Mulla, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, accompanied by Saida Kaddoumi Osman, Policy Adviser at the Authority, and Meera Qassim, International Relations Senior Analyst. The meeting facilitated substantive discussions among participating Member States, with particular emphasis on strengthening cooperative frameworks between BRICS tax administrations. Key areas of focus encompassed technology integration, administrative efficiency and human resource development within tax systems.
A Platform for Strategic Exchange
Addressing the assembled delegates, Mr Al Mulla underscored the vital role of international cooperation and knowledge exchange in advancing modern, efficient tax systems. He identified BRICS working groups and specialised forums such as this meeting as invaluable platforms enabling participating nations to exchange experiences, examine emerging trends and identify pragmatic solutions to shared challenges.
Mr Al Mulla remarked: “The Federal Tax Authority places great importance on strengthening international cooperation and exchanging knowledge and expertise with tax administrations around the world. Our participation in the BRICS Tax Experts and Tax Heads Meeting 2026 provides an important opportunity to learn from diverse experiences, share best practices, and explore new approaches that can contribute to the continued development of tax administration.”
