FANR Receives Twin Honours at LexisNexis Middle East Legal Awards
The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation has been recognised for excellence in legal governance, with its Legal Affairs Department and director receiving prestigious regional accolades.
The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) has been honoured with two significant awards at the 2026 LexisNexis Middle East Legal Awards, underscoring the organisation’s pivotal role in establishing and strengthening the UAE’s nuclear and radiological regulatory infrastructure.
FANR’s Legal Affairs Department has been named Government Legal Team of the Year, whilst Dr. Zoryana Vovchok, Director of Legal Affairs, has received the Government Lawyer of the Year award. Both accolades recognise exceptional contributions to advancing legal excellence and the rule of law across the region’s most demanding regulatory domains.
The Legal Affairs Department’s recognition reflects its instrumental work in developing national legislation, policies and ensuring regulatory compliance within the nuclear sector. Since FANR’s establishment, the department has been fundamental to constructing and reinforcing the comprehensive framework governing the UAE’s nuclear and radiological operations. Dr. Vovchok’s individual recognition acknowledges more than a decade of distinguished leadership at the helm of FANR’s Legal Affairs Department.
