Abu Dhabi Chamber and Siemens forge strategic partnership to advance industrial digitalisation
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has entered into a landmark cooperation agreement with global industrial technology leader Siemens, designed to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen the competitiveness of the Emirate's private sector.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has established a comprehensive cooperation framework with Siemens to enhance industrial digital transformation, advanced technologies, innovation and sustainability across Abu Dhabi’s business landscape. The agreement, formalised by Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Chamber, and Helmut von Struve, CEO of Siemens Middle East, was signed during the UAE Investment Forum in Munich, an initiative organised by the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
This strategic alliance represents a significant step forward in connecting Abu Dhabi’s business community with world-class expertise and technological solutions. The partnership prioritises translating advanced knowledge and technology into practical instruments that enable companies to digitalise operations, enhance productivity and operational efficiency, and build resilience to navigate evolving global market requirements and value chains.
The framework encompasses the development of comprehensive programmes and initiatives advancing digital transformation across the industrial sector, including the adoption of sophisticated digital technologies, automation systems, smart manufacturing solutions and Fourth Industrial Revolution applications. A particular emphasis falls upon raising awareness of technological solutions that strengthen productivity, operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
Al Marzooqi noted that contemporary industrial economies depend fundamentally upon integrating technology, knowledge, skills and sustainability into coherent systems capable of generating sustainable economic value. “This agreement reflects Abu Dhabi Chamber’s commitment to building quality partnerships connecting our business community with leading global expertise, supporting companies as they navigate rapid transformations in industry, trade and markets,” he stated.
Von Struve emphasised the complementary nature of digitalisation and sustainability as pillars of a more productive and resilient industrial sector. “The UAE possesses an ambitious vision for building an industrial ecosystem grounded in innovation, technology and sustainability,” he observed. “Cooperation on the Digital Product Passport represents a valuable opportunity for deepening companies’ understanding of evolving transparency, traceability and sustainability requirements.”
The partnership gives particular prominence to exploring cooperation on digital product passports and related digital traceability solutions, incorporating awareness-raising, knowledge exchange and capacity building initiatives. This approach aims to prepare Abu Dhabi companies for evolving requirements concerning product traceability, sustainability and market access in alignment with applicable regulations.
Cooperation additionally extends to research, development and innovation activities, technical knowledge exchange, and engagement with innovation ecosystems. The agreement encompasses initiatives supporting energy and resource efficiency, decarbonisation, and technology-enabled solutions advancing sustainable industrial development, alongside modernisation of priority sectors including technology and manufacturing.
