The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has secured four prestigious Stevie Awards, affirming its leadership in innovation, operational efficiency and the advancement of judicial services across the emirate.
Recognition of institutional excellence arrived in the form of four international awards for the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department at the 23rd Stevie Awards for International Business. The accolades mark a significant affirmation of the department’s commitment to innovation and the modernisation of judicial services within the emirate.
The department received a Gold Award in the Large Judicial and Legal Institutions category, alongside three Silver Awards honouring Innovation in Public Administration and Governance, Operational Excellence, and Non-Profit Government Organisations. The breadth of recognition speaks to the multifaceted nature of the department’s work, from streamlining internal processes to reshaping how justice is delivered to the community.
The 2026 competition drew more than 3,800 nominations from organisations across 78 countries, with over 210 international specialists participating in evaluation across 11 judging committees over a three month period. The rigorous assessment underscores the calibre of the achievement.
Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, reflected on the awards as a validation of the leadership’s vision and the department’s dedication to advancing judicial services. The recognition, he noted, reflects the institution’s focus on operational efficiency and innovation, positioning Abu Dhabi’s judicial system to meet the evolving needs of the community whilst supporting the emirate’s broader development agenda and global competitiveness.
The Stevie Awards, established in 2002, recognise excellence and achievement across businesses, government entities and leadership worldwide, serving as a benchmark for institutional performance on an international scale.
The department’s trajectory of recognition extends beyond these awards. As we reported in September, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has been charting expanded judicial cooperation with Finland, exploring enhanced collaboration on judicial innovation and digital transformation. Additionally, the department continues to demonstrate its commitment to rehabilitation and community engagement, as evidenced through its participation in the Al Dhafra Dates Festival, where it showcases inmate rehabilitation initiatives.
What it means for Abu Dhabi
The four Stevie Awards represent a milestone for the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and, by extension, the emirate’s commitment to maintaining world standards in the administration of justice. The recognition of both innovation and operational excellence signals that Abu Dhabi’s judicial infrastructure is not only modernising but doing so with measurable effectiveness, enhancing the confidence of residents and businesses in the system.
For Abu Dhabi’s position on the global stage, these international accolades underscore the emirate’s investment in institutional excellence and its alignment with international best practices. The awards validate the department’s role as a critical pillar in supporting Abu Dhabi’s continued development, contributing to a stable, efficient and progressive judicial environment that is essential to sustaining the emirate’s economic and social advancement.
