Arctyc de Tese Claims UAE President’s Cup Glory at Warsaw Racecourse
The champion horse secured victory in the 15th leg of the prestigious series, concluding the European tour of its 33rd edition with a commanding performance.
The UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses reached a triumphant milestone at Służewiec Racecourse in Warsaw on Sunday, with Arctyc de Tese emerging as champion of the 15th leg of this distinguished international series.
Competing as part of the Central European Arabian Derby, the four-year-old Purebred Arabian displayed exceptional prowess over 2,000 metres on turf. Trained by Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte and ridden by jockey Guillaume Guedj-Gay, Arctyc de Tese surged decisively in the closing stages to secure victory by two and a half lengths, crossing the finish line in 2:14.70. The achievement marked the horse’s second victory from seven starts, demonstrating consistent excellence at the highest level of competition.
Sired by Yazeed and out of Amina de Monlau, Arctyc de Tese is owned by Emad Aldin Alhtoushi and Osama Zebar. The Group 3 contest drew formidable competition from leading international competitors. Khaddah, representing Wathnan Racing, claimed second place, whilst Al Leith Racing’s Mahdi du Breuil secured third. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani’s Farooqe Al Shahania finished fourth, with Ammas rounding out the top five finishers.
The race carried a substantial prize purse of PLN610,600, reflecting the calibre of the competition and the championship’s commitment to supporting breeders and owners globally. The event concluded the European programme for the series’ 33rd edition, which continues throughout the year with additional international legs.
The occasion was graced by distinguished diplomatic attendees, including Mohamed Ahmed Al Harbi, UAE Ambassador to Poland; Saoud bin Abdullah Zaid Al Mahmoud, Qatar’s Ambassador to Poland; Enass bint Ahmed Alshahwan, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Poland; and Faisal Al Rahmani, Secretary-General of the Higher Organising Committee of the UAE President’s Cup.
Commenting on the significance of the conclusion, Al Rahmani observed that the European tour had substantially reinforced the international standing of the championship during its current edition. He highlighted how the European legs had strengthened the presence of Purebred Arabian horses at leading international venues whilst championing owners and breeders worldwide. With confidence in continued success, Al Rahmani affirmed the series’ commitment to building upon these achievements throughout the remaining rounds of the season.
