du, the UAE’s foremost telecom and digital services provider, has announced a remarkable achievement that positions the nation at the vanguard of telecommunications innovation. The company has successfully launched the world’s first commercial U6GHz connectivity service, representing a transformative milestone in the evolution towards sixth-generation wireless networks.
This pioneering deployment delivers a fully integrated, end-to-end network solution utilising commercially available customer premises equipment on du’s live 5G+ infrastructure. By operating across 350 megahertz of contiguous spectrum within the 6775 to 7125 megahertz band, du has transformed cutting-edge technology into a practical, customer-ready service accessible to homes and businesses throughout the UAE.
The U6GHz spectrum allocation provides substantially expanded capacity to support an extraordinary range of applications and services. These encompass enhanced mobile broadband capabilities, next-generation fixed wireless access solutions, cloud-based artificial intelligence applications, immersive digital experiences and increasingly interconnected environments that define contemporary digital ecosystems.
