Dubai's Manufacturing Sector Strengthens Global Export Capabilities Through Strategic Partnership

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has collaborated with DHL to equip manufacturers with essential logistics expertise and international trade support, reinforcing the emirate's position as a leading global manufacturing hub.

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, through its Export Assistance Programme, has forged a strategic partnership with global logistics specialists DHL to elevate the export readiness of Dubai’s manufacturing community. An exclusive workshop brought together over 50 manufacturers to engage with DHL experts, who imparted invaluable insights into global logistics, supply chain planning and international connectivity.

The initiative represents a tangible activation of the comprehensive partnership between the two organisations, which was announced during Make it in the Emirates 2026 in May. Through this collaboration, eligible Export Assistance Programme members now enjoy access to preferential shipping rates, customised logistics solutions and end-to-end supply chain support, thereby reducing both the financial burden and operational complexity of expanding into regional and international markets.

Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Acting Associate Vice President of Manufacturing and Exports Development at the Dubai Economic Development Corporation, the economic development arm of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, emphasised the significance of translating strategic partnerships into practical support. He noted that Dubai’s manufacturers possess considerable capabilities to compete on the global stage, and by bringing DHL’s expertise directly to programme members, the workshop enables businesses to make more informed logistics decisions and approach international expansion with substantially increased confidence. The initiative reflects a commitment to equipping Dubai-based manufacturers with the necessary capabilities and connections to scale internationally and contribute to the ambitions of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.

Mahmoud Haj Hussein, Managing Director of DHL Express UAE, highlighted Dubai’s manufacturers’ considerable potential for growth beyond the United Arab Emirates. He emphasised that through the partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, DHL Express combines its expansive global network and cross-border expertise with practical support to simplify international trade, facilitate access to new customers and enable confident global expansion.

The programme supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which includes the ambitious goal of doubling manufacturing value-added output throughout the decade leading to 2033. Dubai’s manufacturing and export landscape continues to benefit from state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced production capability and an expanding network of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements connecting local manufacturers directly to global supply chains.

The Export Assistance Programme continues to connect manufacturers and exporters with services addressing genuine market needs, encompassing logistics and supply chain support, export finance and credit protection. The programme assists businesses in managing export-related risks, strengthening their competitiveness and entering new or high-potential markets with considerably greater confidence.
