Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority Unveils ‘From Vision to Impact’ Theme for 12th International Project Management Forum

The prestigious biennial gathering will convene global leaders and experts in January 2027 to explore the transformative role of project management in shaping sustainable cities and driving economic progress.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has unveiled the thematic framework for the 12th Dubai International Project Management Forum, adopting the compelling concept of ‘From Vision to Impact’ as its guiding principle. The forum, held under the distinguished patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, will convene from 10th to 13th January 2027, drawing together an exceptional assembly of decision-makers, government officials, business leaders and project management specialists from the United Arab Emirates and beyond.
The collaborative undertaking, co-organised with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Emaar Properties and the Project Management Institute, represents the culmination of an extensive consultative process involving representatives from government and private sectors, strategic partners and academic institutions. The thematic architecture encompasses four principal domains and twelve complementary sub-topics, each carefully selected to reflect the profound transformations reshaping the discipline of project management and its increasingly vital contribution to economic and social development.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, articulated the forum’s significance as a firmly established platform on the global calendar of specialised conferences. Over its previous eleven editions since 2014, the forum has attracted more than 25,000 participants and welcomed over 450 speakers, establishing itself as a distinguished knowledge repository for disseminating best practices and anticipating emerging trends within the sector.
The four central themes address contemporary imperatives. Future Trends and Technology encompasses digital transformation strategies, innovation and organisational readiness, and data-driven decision-making, focusing on how advanced technologies enhance planning quality and organisational resilience. Sustainable Communities explores smart and sustainable cities, resilient infrastructure systems, and social and economic sustainability, highlighting the essential role of projects in constructing integrated urban environments that harmonise economic progress with efficient resource stewardship and community wellbeing.
The Future of Project Management examines automation, artificial intelligence integration and agile methodologies, exploring how digital solutions and emerging technologies reshape professional practice and accelerate delivery. Business Continuity addresses risk anticipation, crisis readiness and leadership, equipping organisations with methodologies to maintain operational stability amid evolving challenges.
The 12th edition represents a significant evolution in the forum’s trajectory, transitioning from anticipating global transformations to actively shaping them. By facilitating partnerships and showcasing pioneering methodologies, the forum reinforces Dubai’s pre-eminent position as a global hub for innovation in project planning and delivery, whilst advancing the discipline’s capacity to generate sustained economic and social value.
