Emirates Scholar Board reviews research strategy at ADIBF 2026
The Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies’ Board of Trustees met at its ADIBF 2026 pavilion in Abu Dhabi to evaluate recent achievements and set strategic priorities aligned with UAE Vision 2031.
Board meeting held at the Centre’s ADIBF pavilion
The Board of Trustees of the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies convened in the VIP Majlis at the Centre’s pavilion during the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF 2026). The session was chaired by Dr Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of Emirates Scholar, with Sheikh Dr Ammar bin Nasser Al Mulla, Vice Chancellor, and other board members in attendance.
Participants included Abdulrahman Al Hammadi; Dr Fawaz Hebbal, Director‑General and trustee; Dr Firas Hebbal, President of the Centre; Dr Yousef Al Ali, Head of the Strategic Committee; Abdullah Saeed Al Zaabi; and Khalid Al Ali, Head of the Advisory Committee. Before the meeting, the delegation toured the exhibition, visiting multiple pavilions and reviewing research initiatives on display.
The Board examined the Centre’s recent accomplishments in supporting researchers and expanding scientific publishing platforms. Members noted progress in building local and international partnerships, organising scientific events and forums, and in measures to empower Emirati researchers. The review emphasised the Centre’s role in enhancing the quality and societal impact of research within the UAE.
Discussion focused on strategic directions for the next phase of the Centre’s development. Board members considered ways to broaden cooperation and knowledge exchange with academic and research institutions represented at the fair, and assessed opportunities to strengthen the Centre’s presence at local, regional and international levels.
Dr Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi said the Centre’s achievements demonstrated a clear institutional vision and an integrated approach, stressing that investment in scientific research and researchers is an investment in the nation’s future. He underlined the Board’s commitment to guiding the Centre towards greater excellence and sustainability through sound governance and strategic planning aligned with national priorities and the vision of the UAE leadership.
Sheikh Dr Ammar bin Nasser Al Mulla highlighted the value of the Centre’s participation in ADIBF as a platform for engagement with academic partners and for forging strategic relationships that will support ongoing development. He confirmed that the Board continues to monitor implementation of the Centre’s plans and to back efforts to translate strategic objectives into tangible outcomes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, trustees commended the Centre’s team for its exhibition presence and reaffirmed the importance of sustained efforts to achieve the Centre’s strategic objectives. The Board resolved to continue strengthening the institution’s role as a leading supporter of scientific research in the United Arab Emirates and to ensure alignment with UAE Vision 2031.
