Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, has received Dr. Tobias Tunkel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the UAE, in a significant meeting devoted to enriching the foundations of parliamentary cooperation between the two nations. The discussion encompassed strategies to deepen friendship, facilitate the exchange of legislative expertise, and foster coordinated endeavours between the Federal National Council and the German Parliament.
His Excellency Saqr Ghobash spoke with evident warmth regarding the exceptionally robust ties binding the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany, noting their progressive development across multifaceted domains. He emphasised the particular significance of parliamentary diplomacy as a conduit for advancing bilateral cooperation and facilitating substantive dialogue on matters of collective concern.
The Speaker extended particular commendation to the State Visit undertaken by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Germany in September, characterising it as a watershed moment in the strategic partnership between the two nations. His Excellency stressed the imperative that parliamentary cooperation should progress in tandem with the political and economic impetus generated by the presidential visit. By ensuring such synchronisation, both nations would effectively support the implementation of the visit’s outcomes whilst simultaneously cultivating broader horizons for partnership, investment and cooperation in sectors of mutual strategic priority.
