Sharjah Executive Council Approves Department of Government Relations Structure

The Sharjah Executive Council has endorsed a refined organisational framework for the Department of Government Relations, reinforcing the emirate's commitment to administrative excellence and enhanced institutional performance.

The Sharjah Executive Council, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, convened for its weekly session to deliberate upon matters of governance and public administration. The meeting, held at the Ruler’s Office, was attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

During the session, the Council gave its approval to the organisational structure of the Department of Government Relations, a significant development in the emirate’s ongoing refinement of governmental operations. This initiative reflects Sharjah’s dedication to implementing contemporary administrative practices and elevating the calibre of services extended to the resident and citizen communities.

The newly endorsed framework has been conceived to strengthen institutional efficacy by establishing clarity across various jurisdictions and departmental responsibilities. Through a more integrated approach to organisational units, the structure facilitates enhanced coordination and synergy in pursuit of the department’s strategic objectives. The initiative promises to amplify the department’s capacity to foster robust government relations and to cultivate expanded opportunities for collaborative engagement with relevant governmental and institutional partners.

Additionally, the Council reviewed and advanced a legislative proposal concerning the profession of notary public within Sharjah. This prospective law seeks to establish comprehensive regulation of notarial activities whilst delineating the precise scope of notaries’ professional authority. By providing such clarity and governance, the framework is designed to reinforce confidence in legal transactions and documentary acts, whilst simultaneously advancing protections for individual rights and the fundamental principles of justice and the rule of law.

The Council has directed that the draft legislation be transmitted to the Sharjah Consultative Council for substantive debate and the completion of all requisite legislative procedures, ensuring that the measure receives thorough examination prior to its adoption.
