The significance of coordinated international action in safeguarding communities has been underscored by Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority, during his address at the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which convened in Abu Dhabi today.

Speaking at a high-level panel discussion, His Highness emphasised that unified resolve and collaborative efforts are instrumental in fortifying both the security and prosperity of societies worldwide. Guided by the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE reaffirms its commitment to the international community regarding the imperative of integration in protecting people and preserving the planet.

The National Anti-Narcotics Authority, representing the Emirates, advocates for standing together to address challenges that transcend borders and threaten global stability. His Highness noted that consolidating efforts and joint action constitute the foundation for building a safer and more equitable world.

The distinguished panel convened alongside Monica Juma, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), alongside numerous international ministers and officials. The discourse focused upon strengthening international cooperation in border protection, combating drug trafficking and organised crime, whilst addressing cross-border security threats. Delegates exchanged expertise and best practices designed to enhance border security infrastructure and reinforce law enforcement capabilities across jurisdictions.
