Marwah Fadel appointed as inaugural Director-General of Community-Managed Virtual Authority

His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has appointed Marwah Fadel to lead the newly established Authority, which embodies the collaborative principles of the UAE's Founding Father.

His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Community-Managed Virtual Authority, has appointed Marwah Fadel as the Authority’s first Director-General, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s establishment and governance structure.

The Community-Managed Virtual Authority was recently established under the Presidential Court through a resolution issued by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in implementation of the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Authority represents an innovative approach to institutional management, drawing profound inspiration from the visionary principles of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Its operational framework is grounded in meaningful community participation, with executive management responsibilities being periodically assigned to members of the community who possess the requisite skills and competencies. This distinctive model operates within carefully established controls and criteria endorsed by the Authority’s Chairman, ensuring that the institution maintains its intended positive impact whilst remaining aligned with the nation’s overarching priorities.

Ms Fadel brings substantial professional expertise to the role, having served as Director of Communications and Public Relations at Emirates Foundation. Her multidisciplinary career encompasses experience across media, strategic communications, and institutional development, cultivated through positions held in the Abu Dhabi Government, the private sector, and the federal government. She has demonstrated particular proficiency in content development and narrative creation for leading institutions and national initiatives.

Her academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations. Ms Fadel is also a distinguished member of the fourth cohort of the UAE National Experts Programme’s media track, an initiative launched under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to cultivate and empower specialised national expertise capable of advancing the UAE’s future-focused sectors.

Beyond her formal qualifications, Ms Fadel has undertaken advanced executive programmes at renowned international academic institutions, with particular emphasis on leadership development, strategic thinking and innovation. This comprehensive professional development has substantially strengthened her capacity to bridge institutional vision with practical implementation, positioning her admirably to lead the Community-Managed Virtual Authority during this transformative period of its development.
