Power Slap 2026 Brings Elite Slap Fighting to Abu Dhabi

The world's premier slap fighting promotion returns to the emirate for an evening of contested power and technique at Space42 Arena.

Power Slap represents a distinctive and rapidly growing discipline within combat sports, one that has garnered substantial international following and legitimised slap fighting as a sport requiring genuine athletic prowess, strategic thinking and physical conditioning. The promotion stands at the forefront of this increasingly professionalised field, attracting competitors of world class calibre and drawing audiences from across the globe who appreciate both the spectacle and the technical dimensions of the sport.

The event comes to Abu Dhabi on Friday 23 October 2026, marking a return visit by the promotion to the emirate. The city has established itself as a premier destination for international sporting events, hosting competitions across combat sports, motorsport and athletics, and this fixture underscores Abu Dhabi’s growing appeal as a venue for innovative and distinctive sports entertainment.

Slap fighting as a competitive discipline demands remarkable physical attributes from its athletes. Competitors must develop extraordinary tolerance to impact, explosive hand speed and upper body strength, whilst simultaneously maintaining tactical awareness and reading their opponent’s intentions. The sport requires conditioning at elite levels, with fighters preparing for bouts through rigorous training regimens not dissimilar to those of traditional combat sports athletes.

What is Power Slap

Power Slap operates under a defined ruleset wherein two competitors face one another and take turns delivering open handed strikes to the face and upper torso. The organisation has established itself as the global leader in promoting this format, attracting both veteran athletes seeking new competition and a growing base of specialists who have trained specifically within slap fighting disciplines. The promotion’s events showcase competitors with varying styles, ranging from those who rely upon raw power and technique to those who employ evasive positioning and counter striking strategies.

The sport’s appeal and growth

The rapid expansion of slap fighting reflects broader trends within entertainment and sports, where audiences increasingly seek authentic, unscripted competition and novel formats that distinguish themselves from traditional combat sports. Power Slap has capitalised upon this interest by building a professional circuit with regulated weight classes, transparent judging criteria and athletes who train year round. The promotion has secured significant international media coverage and viewership, with events reaching audiences across multiple continents.
