Ras Al Khaimah and Guangzhou Tianhe CBD forge strategic commercial alliance

A landmark Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for deepened trade and investment cooperation between Ras Al Khaimah and one of China's most dynamic business districts.
The Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with the Guangzhou Tianhe Central Business District Administrative Committee, marking a significant deepening of commercial ties between the northern emirate and a principal commercial centre within the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
The agreement was formalised in Guangzhou in the distinguished presence of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, during an official delegation visit to China. Dr. Rashed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of RAK Chamber, and Dai Wei, Secretary of Tianhe CBD Administrative Committee Party Leadership Group, executed the memorandum on behalf of their respective organisations.
This strategic accord follows the Ras Al Khaimah–China Business Summit held in Shenzhen, establishing a comprehensive framework for sustained engagement between the business communities of both regions. Tianhe represents Guangzhou’s core commercial district, home to a distinguished concentration of corporate headquarters, financial institutions and professional and digital services enterprises.
The partnership articulates a collaborative approach encompassing business connectivity and market development. The two parties will facilitate introductions between Tianhe-based companies and potential customers, suppliers, distributors and partners throughout Ras Al Khaimah, Guangzhou and the wider Greater Bay Area. The framework encompasses targeted business matchmaking, reciprocal delegations and joint participation in investment forums, exhibitions and promotional endeavours.
Dr. Rashed Al Nuaimi emphasised the significance of the accord, noting that the signing in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi underscores Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to its partnership with China. He highlighted Tianhe’s standing as a singularly dynamic business district, observing that many enterprises established there are seeking international expansion and capital partnerships. He expressed the intention to provide a transparent and practical route for such companies into Ras Al Khaimah, with introductions to appropriate partners, access to a robust industrial foundation and direct market connection across the region.
Dr. Al Nuaimi further noted that more than four hundred Chinese companies currently operate within RAKEZ, demonstrating the attractiveness of Ras Al Khaimah to Chinese enterprises. He articulated an ambition to translate the agreement into tangible outcomes through established partnerships, progressing investments and expanded commercial presence, whilst ensuring dialogue between the business communities continues substantively beyond this visit.
Dai Wei affirmed Tianhe CBD’s dedication to enabling its enterprises to pursue new international markets and identify fresh partnerships. He characterised Ras Al Khaimah and the broader United Arab Emirates as an attractive commercial gateway to the Middle East, Africa and beyond, and expressed confidence that this memorandum will provide Tianhe companies with a trusted partner on the ground, facilitating business matchmaking, delegations and joint events that generate meaningful opportunities for enterprises in both regions.
