Robinhood establishes regional headquarters in DIFC to serve Middle Eastern investors

The retail investment platform has received authorisation from the Dubai Financial Services Authority to launch its comprehensive trading services across the Middle East, reinforcing Dubai's position as a preeminent global financial centre.

Robinhood has been granted authorisation by the Dubai Financial Services Authority to establish its regional headquarters within the Dubai International Financial Centre, marking a significant expansion of the platform’s international footprint across the Middle Eastern market.

The authorisation represents a notable endorsement of the platform’s commitment to democratising access to global financial markets. Robinhood will offer traders and investors access to all ten DFSA-approved asset classes, encompassing equities, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds and investment tokens. The company intends to launch its complete product suite in 2027, providing local investors with comprehensive exposure to international markets and economic opportunities.

Vlad Tenev, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Robinhood, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, emphasising the significance of establishing operations within one of the world’s most prominent financial centres. The decision reflects the platform’s vision to create a globally accessible investment ecosystem that transcends geographical boundaries.

Johann Kerbrat, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Robinhood Crypto and International, highlighted the dynamic growth of retail investment participation across the Middle East and North Africa region, noting that the platform is well positioned to provide the sophisticated tools and accessibility that a new generation of investors requires.

Robinhood’s regional operations will be led by Salah Kaddoura, who assumes the position of Senior Executive Officer and President of Robinhood MENA. Kaddoura brings extensive expertise in financial technology and investment management throughout the region, and will oversee the company’s expanding team in Dubai.

Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer of DIFC Authority, underscored the significance of Robinhood’s decision as a reflection of Dubai’s established position as a leading centre for financial innovation. The arrival of such a prominent international investment platform further strengthens the ecosystem within the financial centre and demonstrates the calibre of global enterprises choosing Dubai as their base for regional expansion. Robinhood’s proven capacity to broaden participation in financial markets positions it to contribute meaningfully to the continued evolution of investment opportunities throughout the region, connecting investors with global economic possibilities.
