Sharjah Crown Prince Champions Virtual Training Revolution at Police Sciences Academy

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, has reviewed the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy's pioneering Virtual Education and Training Centre, a sophisticated facility designed to transform security personnel development through artificial intelligence and immersive simulation technologies.
Within the purposeful setting of University City, the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy stands as a testament to institutional evolution. On Monday, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the SPSA Council, presided over a Council meeting that examined the transformative work underway within the Academy’s walls, most notably the advanced Virtual Education and Training Centre.
The Centre represents a considered shift in how security personnel prepare for the complexities of modern policing. Rather than rely solely on conventional instruction, the facility harnesses artificial intelligence and interactive simulation systems to create immersive learning environments that mirror real-world security scenarios. These virtual worlds allow trainees to encounter and navigate the challenges they will face in the field, developing practical competence before stepping into operational situations.
During his visit to the Centre, H.H. was briefed on its technical capabilities and educational applications. The facility will serve multiple functions: supporting undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, enhancing practical skills development, and contributing to criminal investigation support through advanced technological tools. Security entities across the emirate are being encouraged to utilise the Centre’s capabilities to strengthen investigations, uncover crime circumstances, and accelerate inquiry procedures with greater accuracy.
The Council’s deliberations extended across several significant initiatives. A Level 4 Diploma in Police Sciences is being developed, combining academic knowledge with practical training and modern technologies to elevate personnel readiness and professional competence. The Academy is preparing 52 interactive textbooks for an adaptive learning platform, facilitating a transition to more flexible digital environments. The shooting and counter-terrorism team is being enhanced through specialised international expertise, including collaboration with France’s RAID unit.
As the Academy continues to strengthen Sharjah’s security system through education and training, it also enhances its broader intellectual presence. The institution is preparing to participate in the 45th Sharjah International Book Fair, showcasing its academic and research publications. Furthermore, the Academy will host the 16th International Conference of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment in December 2026, bringing together distinguished experts and researchers from across the region and internationally.
The Council reviewed designs for the Academy’s 11 new insignia, reflecting a refreshed institutional identity, and discussed preparations for the postgraduate graduation ceremony for master’s and doctoral programme students. H.H. also received briefings on the admission procedures for the 28th cohort of officer cadets.
What it means for Abu Dhabi

These achievements rest upon the quality of personnel development, making investments in advanced training facilities and modern educational methodologies essential to sustained security excellence.
The Virtual Education and Training Centre exemplifies how the Emirates embrace technological innovation to enhance institutional capacity. By integrating artificial intelligence, simulation, and digital learning platforms, Sharjah’s police sciences institution positions itself as a regional leader in security education. This reflects the wider Emirati ethos of continuous improvement and adaptation, ensuring that security personnel remain equipped to address evolving challenges and emerging threats with precision and professionalism.
